Who Is Jesus

Jesus, who is He and what is He really all about…..

Jesus is by all accounts the most famous, yet most misunderstood person in all of history. The very calendar we use daily was set by the time before His birth (BC) and the time after His birth (AD).

What do you know about Jesus?

Some people say that Jesus was someone who taught others about God.

Some people say that He was a prophet, someone with special insight about things from God.

Some people say that Jesus was just the son of a carpenter.

Some are just not aware of Him at all.

The best way to really get to know how wonderful Jesus is, is to see what the Bible, the best selling book in all of history, has to say about Him.  Our purpose for this page of the web site is to simply let you know what we think about Jesus and to help you to better understand why you would want Him in your life.

A Loving Friend

Jesus is the kind of friend everyone wants to have.  Jesus is the kind of friend that adds value to your life even when you’re not the best friend to Him.

Jesus lived to show mercy to those who least deserve it.  He lived to give hope to hopeless people.  He was passionate to show undeserved favor to even the worst people imaginable.

It gets better though.  Jesus is such a good friend that He came to earth to rescue us from the penalty of living our lives separated from God.  He knew the only way for us to be rescued was to die for us and this He did on a cross for the entire world to witness.

When we embrace Jesus as our friend and turn away from our sin He guides us, showing us how to live and love in a way that brings joy to God and blessing in our life.  Only Jesus died for you, only Jesus can provide hope for today and hope for life in heaven as well.

Maybe you have never thought of Jesus this way before.  Jesus is about way more than rules and regulations, He is about relationships.

Extremely Generous

It may seem hard to imagine but Jesus understands us more than we realize.   In the dictionary generosity is defined as “the quality of being unselfish and kind.

This is why we say Jesus is extremely generous! All that Jesus possesses as God He makes available to us out of the kindness of His heart.  There is so much He gives.

The Bible tells us though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.  Instead He gave up His divine privileges, and He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.  He did this to provide a clear pathway for us to be able to relate to God in a personal way.

He gives hope when we are in our darkest hours.  He gives us joy when it seems like the sun has stopped shining.  He gives us peace when the pressures of life overwhelm us.  He gives us provision, protection and wisdom.  Jesus is the only God of all religions who’s heart is to serve, seek and save mankind.

Very Powerful

First and foremost Jesus power is demonstrated by His death on the cross, His burial and His resurrection three days later.  He demonstrated his power over death and sin and showed He was above any and all natural events.  Jesus is powerful because He did for us what no one else could do.  Through His death He paid a ransom for each of us freeing us also from the power of death.

Jesus is powerful because only He can forgive us our sins and create a pathway for us to have eternal life in heaven.

Jesus showed His power through the time He lived here on earth by conquering many things.  We call these miracles and he performed many.  While on earth Jesus raised people from the dead.  He healed people of many forms of sickness and disease.  He made storms stop and removed evil spirits from people’s lives.

Jesus, through His powerful teachings, released to us the wisdom that we need to live our lives to the fullest extent of what He has designed for us.  Because of Jesus powerful teaching and training we still desire to live like Him over two thousand years after His resurrection.

These are just a few of the characteristics of Jesus but we hope they will help you to better understand how much He loves you!  We pray that you will have a life changing encounter with Him and we will show you how to start!
